Man Reportedly Jumping Across Path Of Bus In South Austin Survives Impact

The male victim in his 30s was hit by the bus at 88 Congress Ave. noth of Lady Bird Lake over the weekend.

SOUTH AUSTIN, TX — The injuries sustained by a pedestrian hit by a bus this past weekend are not considered to be life-threatening, medics said.

Austin-Travis County EMS officials said the male victim in his 30s was hit by the bus at 88 Congress Ave., just north of Lady Bird Lake, at around 8 p.m. this past Friday. Police later said the man jumped in front of the bus.

The man was transported to University Medical Center Brackenridge for injuries categorized as serious but that nonetheless were deemed not to pose a threat to his life, according to medics. No other information was made available.
