Medics Rescue Woman In Throes Of Medical Issue At Southwest Austin Greenbelt

A STAR Flight helicopter flew the victim to the hospital after she succumbed to illness.

AUSTIN, TX -- A woman experiencing an undisclosed medical issue was rescued by medics Wednesday afternoon, plucked out of the wilderness via helicopter.

The woman in her 50s was at Sculpture Falls along the Barton Creek greenbelt in southwest Austin when she began to experience a medical issue, according to Austin-Travis County EMS officials. The woman was transported to University Medical Center Brackenridge for treatment.

Her condition is not expected to be life-threatening, medics said.

The incident occurred at around 1:45 p.m. A STAR Flight helicopter was dispatched to the scene to swiftly transport the woman to the hospital.
