Missing Stripe on South Austin Road Confusing Drivers
The potentially dangerous stretch of road is located around the area of South Congress Avenue at Stassney Lane.

SOUTH AUSTIN, TX: A missing stripe on a South Austin road is making it difficult for drivers and stay in their lanes.
The area of South Congress Avenue at Stassney Lane has been making drivers nervous, KXAN reported. The road was recently repaved, but a new yellow line has not yet been painted. There are currently only small markers and reflectors holding the place where the line should be.
KXAN witnessed several vehicles stop at the intersection right in the line of incoming traffic, most likely thinking they were in the turn lane. A woman was even seen getting out of her car and telling other drivers that they were in the wrong lane.

Ashley Moody told KXAN she drives down the stretch of road on a daily basis, and often spots confused drivers.
“I think there should be the stripes in the middle of the road because now they have these two yellow reflectors and people don’t understand you can’t cross over,” Moody said.
