Mover Accused Of Taking Money From South Austin Apartment

Samuel Andrada, 38, was helping resident at Lenox Boardwalk apartments when a graduation card containing $100 went missing, police said.

SOUTH AUSTIN, TX — A mover has been accused of theft after allegedly stealing money from a Southeast Austin apartment while using the resident's bathroom over the weekend, according to a published report.

Referencing court documents, the Austin American-Statesman reported that Samuel Andrada, 38, was at the resident's home at the Lenox Boardwalk apartments working for a moving company when the incident is said to have occurred. The resident later told police a graduation card containing $100 went missing after Andrada used the bathroom.

When confronted with the accusation, Andrada is said to have denied stealing the money but refused to empty his pockets. The resident, according to the report, is said to have waved down a police officer yelling the money had been stolen. As Andrada saw police approaching, he returned the money and walked away, according to the report.

During the course of their investigation, police learned Andrada had an active warrant for cocaine possession from last October, the Statesman reported. As of Sunday, he was still at the Travis County Jail with bail set at $3,000, according to records.
