South Austin CapMetro Transit Center To Open In June
Transit hub is situated under a most unique location, underneath an elevated portion of Highway 71 on Ben White Boulevard.

SOUTH AUSTIN, TX β Capital Metro is poised to break ground on the Westgate Transit Center in July in a most interesting location: Under an elevated portion of Highway 71 on Ben White Boulevard.
You read that right. The new transit center for South Austin will be uniquely located under that overpass between Manchaca Road and Pack Saddle Pass. The transportation hub is nearing fruition after an investment of nearly $4 million, officials said.
It's expansive, with 200 parking spots and enough room for a steady stream of buses from eight different routes filing in. Potential additional space could accommodate B-Cycle bikes or car2go vehicles, CapMetro officials have hinted.
