Noodles & Company Closing 5 Austin Locations

The restaurant chain attributes the closings to "difficulty overcoming operational setbacks in the Austin area."

A restaurant chain serving noodle and pasta dishes is closing all five of its Austin locations.

Noodles & Company, which arrived in Austin in 2008, attributed the closings to operational setbacks in a written statement sent to Patch.

β€œWe had difficulty overcoming operational setbacks in the Austin area, despite investing considerable resources, and decided to close our locations there. Our system has grown to nearly 500 restaurants in 35 states over the past 20 years. Occasionally, trade areas shift, populations contract or we may miss the mark gaining insight to adjust our future growth model. The decision to close a restaurant is never easy and is only made after careful consideration of the long-term financial performance of a particular location,” the statement read.
