One Dead in South Austin Fatal Crash

Three-vehicle collision occurred on the intersection of MoPac Boulevard and Slaughter Lane.

A man in his 60s is dead after a three-car collision in South Austin.

The crash occurred around 1:55 a.m. Saturday near the intersection of MoPac and Slaughter Lane, reported the Austin American-Statesman. One of the vehicles involved in the crash ran a red light trying to make an eastbound turn onto Slaughter Lane when it crashed into the other vehicles.

The man in his 60s was transported to University Medical Center Brackenridge, according to a tweet sent by Austin / Travis County EMS. The Statesman reported that he later died.

The two other drivers refused treatment, according to EMS.

Police told the Statesman they believe alcohol was a factor in the collision.
