South Austin Man Reported Missing Found Safe (Updated)
John Alexander, 75, was last seen boarding a city bus Friday morning headed to HEB and before his family reported him missing.

UPDATE: John Alexander, the elderly man who was reported missing on Friday, was found safe on Saturday, police said.

SOUTH AUSTIN, TX — Police are asking the public to be on the lookout for a missing elderly man last seen leaving his home in the southwest part of the city on Friday morning.

John Alexander, 75, left his home along the 12200 block of Arboles Circle Friday morning and was last seen at a nearby bus stop at around 10 a.m. near Riverside Drive and Pleasant Valley Drive, police said. Police said the man was headed toward the HEB store nearby.
Police were alerted by a family member, who told them Alexander was not home Friday afternoon. Neighbors told police they saw him boarding a city bus at 8:30 a.m. The concern for the missing man is heightened given existing medical conditions and the impending inclement weather being fueled by Hurricane Harvey.

Alexander is described as a black male weighing about 220 pounds and standing at five feet, seven inches tall. He has black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a tan button-down shirt, blue jeans and black Crocs footwear.
Anyone with information regarding Alexander's whereabouts is asked to call 911 immediately (24/7) or the Missing Persons Unit at (512) 974-5250 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
