Police Charge Men With Assault After They Picked Up Woman Needing Ride In South Austin
The two men pulled up to a woman needing a ride to her destination, but they allegedly pulled into a parking lot and dragged her from car.

SOUTH AUSTIN, TX — Police have charged two men with assaulting a woman they picked up in South Austin early Saturday in South Austin, according to a published report.
The victim told police she was standing with a friend at the corner of Burton Drive and E. Oltorf Street when a car pulled up to them, the Austin American Statesman reported. Police later identified the occupants of the vehicle as Hassan Suileman, 27, and Ali al Tameemi, 38.
The men asked if she needed a lift to her destination at Stassney Lane, and the woman agreed, according to the report. The woman acknowledged she returned flirtatious behavior with the men, but refused when they offered money in exchange for sexual acts, the report indicates.

That's when the driver pulled into a parking lot, according to the victim, while speaking in Arabic. The woman said she remained in the vehicle still thinking she would be taken to her destination. Instead, the men allegedly pulled her out of the car by her hair and dragged her away and taking her cell phone with which she had already contacted police, according to the report.
Arriving police saw the men grappling with the captive woman, the report reads. Seeing the arriving police, the men attempted to flee before pulling over about a quarter of a mile away, according to an arrest affidavit. Once detained, the men were charged on charges ranging from assault with injury and unlawful restraint with al Tameemi assessed an additional charge of evading arrest.

Travis County Jail records indicate a bond of $8,000 was set for Suileman.
