Police ID Body Found In South Austin Park
Police on Sunday evening discovered Juan Zapata, 38, dead at Onion Creek Drive and Springville Lane, ruling death a homicide.
AUSTIN, TEXAS — Police on Monday identified the body found in a South Austin park this past Sunday.
The grim discovery was made at the intersection of Onion Creek Drive and Springville Lane on March 17 at around 6:35 p.m. Austin police, fire and EMS crews arrived to find the body of Juan Zapata, 38, with obvious trauma to his body He was pronounced dead a few minutes later.
The medical examiner has since ruled the death a homicide. Police did not specify whether Zapata died of gunshot or knife wounds.
