Police ID Victim Of Fatal Motorcycle Crash In South Austin
Jessica Port, 32, was traveling eastbound on Southwest Parkway when she hit a car that turned in front of her motorcycle.

SOUTH AUSTIN, TX -- Police identified the victim of a fatal motorcycle accident from earlier this week.
According to a police investigation, a white Chevrolet van was traveling westbound on the 6800 block of Southwest Parkway turning left onto a private drive on Sept. 19. Meanwhile, a black Triumph motorcycle was simultaneously headed eastbound on Southwest Parkway, at 5:45 p.m.
The van turned left in front of the motorcycle, causing it to hit the van. The driver of the motorcycle was transported to South Austin Hospital, where she later died. The victim was identified as Jessica Port, 32. Police said the woman was wearing a helmet, and intoxication was not a contributing factor in the crash.

Police noted this was the 51st fatal traffic crash in Austin, and the 52nd fatality of 2016. At this point last year, there were 79 traffic fatalities locally.
Police didn't mention if the driver of the van would be cited.
