Police ID Woman Killed After Crashing Jeep Into Another Car In South Austin
Ashley Clark, 28, was traveling along the 4300 block of U.S. Highway 183 southbound when she hit another vehicle and lost control.

SOUTH AUSTIN, TX — Police identified the woman killed on Tuesday after crashing into another vehicle and slamming through residential fences in a Jeep.
The incident occurred on Sept. 5 at about 7:15 p.m. along the 4300 block of U.S. Highway 183 southbound, according to police. An investigation found that a silver 2006 Jeep Liberty was traveling southbound on U.S. Highway 183 when it struck a blue 2006 Chevrolet Silverado. The impact of the crash caused the Jeep to leave the roadway and crash through residential fencing.
The driver of the Jeep was pronounced dead at the scene. She was identified by police as Ashley Clark, a 28-year-old black female. There were no other injuries resulting from the wreck.

Police said the incident marked Austin’s 44th fatal traffic crash and the 46th fatality of 2017. At this time in 2016, there were 47 fatal traffic crashes and 47 traffic fatalities, police added.
