Police ID Woman Killed After Slamming Vehicle Against Concrete Wall In South Austin

Police say Holly Elizabeth Hamon, 21, was traveling at a high rate of speed when she failed to negotiate a ramp and crashing into wall.

SOUTH AUSTIN, TX — Police on Friday identified the woman killed earlier this week in South Austin after she hit the side of a street ramp while traveling at a high rate of speed.

Holly Elizabeth Hamon, 21, was transported to the hospital after striking the impact attenuator on a ramp along the 6600 block of E. Ben White Boulevard on Feb. 7 at about 11:25 a.m., police said. The collision caused her 2014 Ford Escape to ricochet and strike the concrete wall along the north curb line of the service road while she was driving at excessive speed while traveling westbound, police said.

The woman was transported to South Austin Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead. Toxicology results are pending to determine if alcohol consumption played a role in the fatal wreck, police said.
