Police Make Arrest In Connection To Creepy Clown Threats Targeting Austin Schools

Akin High School student Noah Adam Hollingsworth, 17, faces a misdemeanor charge of making a terroristic threat, police said.

AUSTIN, TX -- Police on Wednesday arrested a high school student in connection to a rash of recent creepy clown threats made to several Austin schools, officials said.

The 17-year-old student was identified as Noah Adam Hollingsworth, a student at Akins High School in South Austin according to police. Austin ISD police arrested the suspect shortly after 2 p.m. on Wednesday, police said. The student faces a misdemeanor charge of making a terroristic threat, according to law enforcement officials.

The young man reportedly has confessed to having created social media accounts for the sole purpose of issuing the threats, police said.

The arrest is the culmination of an investigation conducted after several schools received vague yet menacing threats from a creepy clown -- the local manifestation of a trend occurring nationwide. Over the weekend, "Klown Joey" sent a menacing message to the several schools in the area, including:
