Police Officer Injured In South Austin Traffic Accident

The officer was handling traffic enforcement and was inside his car when the wreck happened.

SOUTH AUSTIN, TX -- An Austin policeman was injured in a crash while on traffic-enforcement duty on East Slaughter Lane in South Austin Wednesday, according to a published report.

The officer was not seriously injured, the Austin American-Statesman reported. Still, he was taken to a hospital as a precaution.

The newspaper reported the officer was in his vehicle during the 7:35 a.m. crash. No further details were disclosed, including if the other driver faces charges.
