Police Seek Gunman Who Killed South Austin Pot Dealer

Police say Isaac Christopher Morev, 19, agreed to participate in drug transaction when he was shot by one of three men demanding marijuana.

SOUTH AUSTIN, TX Police identified the man who was murdered early Tuesday while delivering marijuana in a drug deal gone bad at a South Austin apartment.

Police said Isaac Christopher Morev, 19, had gathered with friends to socialize when the group arranged for the purchase of marijuana between two other parties, according to a police investigation. In exchange for arranging the transaction, the friends would receive compensation, police learned.

Morev was contacted to take part in the transaction, and agreed to drive to the apartment to deliver the marijuana to an apartment at 412 E. William Cannon Dr., police said. The buyer of the pot arrived shortly afterwards, followed soon after by two other men who proceeded to point firearms at those present, according to police. The armed men demanded the marijuana before exiting, except for the third man who stopped after the marijuana was secured to fire at Morev before exiting the apartment.

Morev was rushed by medics to the South Austin Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased at 2:18 a.m., police said.

Detectives said one of the three assailants used a Snapchat account with the user name of king_tlee59 accompanied by a vanity name that appearing as Lil Trouble B * Austin Homicide investigators are speaking with witnesses who are providing detectives with details about the shooting, police said. Those with information about this incident are urged to call Crime Stoppers at (512) 472-TIPS or text "Tip 103" + your message to CRIMES. A reward of up to $1,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to the arrest and conviction in this case, police said.
