Police Seek Help Locating Suspect In South Austin Sexual Assault

SOUTH AUSTIN, TX — Police seek the public's help in locating a suspect in a recent sexual assault.
The incident dates to Jan. 15 at around 2:46 a.m., when a woman was walking from the Casino South Side Lounge at 1502 W. Ben White Blvd to her home. While walking, the female was attacked from behind and subsequently sexually assaulted by an unidentified male in approximately along the 1800 block of Fortview Rd., police said in a press advisory.
Descriptive details on the suspect are sketchy. He is described as either being white, light-skinned Hispanic or Asian. His hair is possibly dark and short. He has a non-athletic build and emitted a strong musty body odor and urine. He is possibly a smoker, as he also emitted a cigarette odor. He wore a jacket made of stiff material with a cloth hood or collar of unknown color. He likely had a scratch to the chin or neck area given the victim's attempt to stop the assault.
