Austin Man Reported Missing Found Safe (Updated)

Kristian Safstrom, 49, had last been seen along Ditttmar Road Monday morning before being found safe by Tuesday afternoon.

UPDATE: Kristian Safstrom, 49, who had been reported as missing on Monday has been found safe, police said on Tuesday. Safstrom reportedly had left a medical facility without notice Monday morning, prompting police to issue a community-wide bulletin asking residents to be on the lookout for him.

Concern over Safstrom's well-being had been heightened given existing medical conditions. No details as to where Safstrom was found were released.

AUSTIN, TX — Police are seeking help from the public in locating a missing Austin man.

Kristian Safstrom, 49, was last seen in the 1100 block of Ditttmar Road on Sunday at around 10:30 a.m., police said in a press advisory. Police added that the missing man's unspecified medical condition raises concern over his welfare. Safstrom left a medical facility without notice, police said.

Safstrom was last seen wearing a black medical helmet, gray neck brace and a gray shirt. He is described as a white male standing six feet tall and weighing 205 pounds. He has gray hear and blue eyes. A photo of the man was not provided.
