Police Seek Public's Help Finding South Austin Sexual Assault Suspect

The man wielded a handgun as he entered Burger King where two women were prepping food, sexually assaulting one of them before fleeing.

SOUTH AUSTIN, TX — Police are seeking help from the public in helping to identify a sexual assault suspect accused of assaulting as fast food worker in South Austin over the weekend.

On April 2 at 6:30 a.m., the suspect entered the Burger King at 1001 E. Ben White Blvd. through an unlocked side door where two female employees were prepping food. As the man entered the establishment, he displayed a chrome-colored handgun and proceeded to sexually assault one of the female employees before exiting the place through the same door and fleeing on foot via the south side of the building.

Police issued a description of the suspect:

  • Light skinned Hispanic male.
  • Late 20s to late 30s years of age.
  • Goatee style facial hair.
  • Medium build.
  • Approximately five feet, eight inches to five feet, ten inches in height.

The suspect was last seen wearing a blue jacket, blue jeans, black dress shoes and a green camougflage, bucket -style hat. Police released still images from a surveillance camera in the hopes someone might recognize him and alert as to his whereabouts.
