Police Seek South Austin Bank Robbery Suspect

The suspect entered the Wells Fargo Bank branch wearing sunglasses, a wig and bright red lipstick, according to Austin police.

SOUTH AUSTIN, TX — Police are seeking help from the public in locating a suspect in a South Austin bank robbery last month.

The incident dates to Sept. 29, when a suspect entered the Wells Fargo bank branch at 1901 W. William Cannon Dr. just after 2 p.m. The suspect demanded money and left on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

The suspect is described as a black male standing at five feet, six inches in height. He was last seen wearing black medical scrubs, an undershirt with blue sleeves, long black wig, sunglasses and bright red lipstick. No surveillance camera images were released of the suspect.

The case remains under investigation by Austin Police Department robbery detectives and the Federal Bureau of Investigation Central Texas Violent Crimes Task Force.
