Police Seek South Austin Robbery, Kidnapping Suspect

Officials release several surveillance camera images hoping to locate man they say abducted his victim before dropping him off unharmed.

AUSTIN, TEXAS — Police seek help from the public in locating a suspect wanted for a robbery and kidnapping from early November, officials said on Monday.

The incident occurred on Nov. 7 along the 1300 block of Crossing Place at around 1:45 p.m. It is then that police said a male victim was abducted in a vehicle, possibly a tan Lincoln 4-door car before being taken to the area of Riverside Drive and South Congress Avenue.

The victim was then released without injury, police said in a press advisory.

Police describe the suspect is described as as a black man in his early 20s standing at a height of five feet, nine inches and weighing 180 pounds. He is said to have a muscular build, and sports shoulder-length dreadlocks, according a police description. The Austin Police Department released surveillance camera images of the suspect in the hopes someone might recognize him and alert them as to his whereabouts.

Police added that the suspect possibly has a tattoo on his cheek, just below his eye, and a large, blue neck tattoo that is possibly a word starting with the letter "n" or m." He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, black basketball shorts, black shoes with yellow trim, and possibly has even more tattoos on his right arm.

The suspect also sported a silver ring on his right pinky finger, along with a necklace with a charm affixed shaped like three letters — possibly spelling "BOT," police added.
