Police Seek Suspect In South Austin Bank Heist: VIDEO

The Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union was hit last Saturday, cops said.

South Austin, TX -- Police seek the public's assistance in identifying a suspect in a recent bank robbery in South Austin.

Police said that on Saturday, July 9, at 3:30 p.m., a suspect entered the Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union at 315 W. Slaughter Lane and demanded money from a teller. He then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

Police say no weapon was displayed, and no injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as a male in his late teens or early 20s standing at about 5' 10" in height of thin build. He has medium-length, light brown hair described as wavy. He was last seen wearing a black shirt and shoes, dark-colored shorts and a large white watch on his left wrist.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Robbery tip line at (512) 974-5092, Crime Stoppers at (512) 472-TIPS or text “Tip 103” + your message to CRIMES. Those submitting a tip that leads to an arrest or charge being filed are eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.

Police noted the incident represented Austin’s 10th bank robbery of 2016.

To enhance the chances of locating the suspect, police released both a still image from a surveillance camera as well as video footage.
