Police Seek Suspect In South Austin Robberies

Surveillance camera images released in the hopes members of the public might recognize suspect in two December robberies at Valero store.

AUSTIN, TX — The Austin Police Department is requesting help from the public in identifying a suspect connected to recent robbery cases.

Officials on Tuesday released surveillance camera images in the hopes someone might recognize the suspect and alert police as to his identify and whereabouts. Police said the man pictured is wanted in connection to the Dec. 19 and Dec. 28 robberies of a Valero gas station that took place at 12:38 a.m. and 1:26 a.m., respectively, along the 2200 block of East Oltorf Street.

The suspect from both incidents is said to have threatened the clerk working at the convenience store, leaving each time with an undisclosed amount of cash. He's described as Hispanic between the ages of 35-40 standing at about five feet, six inches tall and weighing about 200 pounds. The suspect has black hair, mustache and goatee, and possibly a tattoo on the right side of his neck. He was last seen wearing a dark hoodie, blue jeans and glasses.

Police believe the suspect could possibly be a resident in the South Austin neighborhood where the robberies took place.
