Police Seek Suspects Connected To South Austin Robbery

Two Hispanic males are said to have shoplifted from a Family Dollar store before robbing a man at gunpoint.

SOUTH AUSTIN, TX — Police are seeking the public's help in identifying a pair of robbery suspects connected to an incident earlier this month.

Police say that on July 2 along the 5300 block of Nuckols Crossing at around 9:25 p.m., two Hispanic male suspects approached a male victim who was sitting in his car near a Family Dollar store. One of the suspects displayed a handgun while the other displayed a sawed-off shotgun. Both demanded money from the victim, and fired a round into the air, police said.

The suspects had shoplifted items from the Family Dollar just before they robbed the man, police said. Both suspects spoke Spanish during the robbery, police noted.

The first suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his 20s. At the time of the robbery, he wore a long-sleeved blue shirt with the word Nike emblazoned on the front, a blue cap, jeans and dark shoes. The second suspect also is a Hispanic male in his 20s who sported a chinstrap beard with mustache. At the time of the incident, he wore a plaid shirt, blue jeans, dark shoes and sunglasses on his head.
