Police SWAT Team Members In Standoff With South Austin Man
Man living at affordable housing complex Skyline Terrace is said to have made threats to harm himself, others.

SOUTH AUSTIN, TX — Police SWAT team members on Sunday were at the scene of a standoff in South Austin amid reports of an emotionally disturbed man making threats, officials said.
Police have evacuated several surrounding buildings at the site, and advised people to avoid the area if possible. It's unclear whether the man in armed. He lives an affordable housing unit at Skyline Terrace, along the 1200 block West Ben White Boulevard, is said to have threatened to harm himself and others.
No details on the man, who is known to police, have been disclosed. The Austin American-Statesman reported he told police he's 66 years old.

Skyline Terrace is operated by the nonprofit Foundation Communities that provides affordable housing and others support services for families, senior citizens, veterans and those with disabilities.
Police said they received the initial call at 9:10 on Sunday. Patch will update with more details as they are made available.
