Publishing Company Based in South Austin to Leave for Round Rock
When Houghton Mifflin Harcourt's new offices are complete the company, and its 270 jobs, will be moving out.

When construction on the La Frontera Plaza office building is finished in 2016, 270 jobs will leave South Austin for Round Rock.
Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, the global publishing company headquartered in Boston, will rent 85,000 square feet of the 100,000-square-foot office project located at 2700 La Frontera Blvd., according to a press release from the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce.
While the company, which is a leading provider in educational materials such as textbooks, may not be noticeable by name most people probably encountered it during their school years.

“We are honored that HMH has chosen Round Rock to call ‘home’ and appreciate the trust they are putting in us. They will be a valuable partner, and I look forward to them becoming an integral part of our vibrant, thriving community,” Round Rock Mayor Alan McGraw told the chamber.
La Frontera Plaza is being developed by Live Oak-Gottesman and will be a Class A office building aimed at attracting premier clients who pay above-average rent.

“Adding an additional Class A office building in Round Rock has been a priority, and we’re thrilled to partner with Live Oak-Gottesman and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt to make it happen,” Ben White, vice president of economic development at the Round Rock Chamber, said in the statement.
