Recovery Operation Underway at McKinney Falls: UPDATE
A man reportedly jumped into the water to rescue his dog.

UPDATE: The body of a 25-year-old male was recovered after he went underwater at McKinney Falls State Park, according to Austin Travis County EMS. Reports say the man jumped in to save his dog, who slipped into the falls.
The Austin American Statesman reports the area in which the man jumped in to save his dog is dangerous because the waterfall pushes the water into a circular flow that can suck people down.

Authorities in Austin are attempting to recover a victim who went underwater at Mckinney Falls Park Sunday afternoon, according to the Austin Fire Department.
First units on scene initiated rescue operations. Rescue swimmers continue to search for the victim.
