Bowie High School Resumes Regular Schedule

A water pipe break prompted school officials to take emergency measures, including installation of portable toilets.

SOUTH AUSTIN, TX -- Bowie High School will resume its normal schedule Wednesday morning after a water main break prompted its early closure yesterday.

School officials posted the advisory on their website after students were sent home early on Tuesday after a water pipe break prompted a complete shut-off to the school’s water supply.

Buses began transporting students home earlier than usual as a result of the water pipe rupture, the Austin American-Statesman reported. Plumbers began working on repairs to damaged pipes immediately, and continued through the evening.
