South Austin Woman Faces Felony Charge After Cops Find 40-Plus Pounds Of Pot In Her Apartment

Ashley Nicole Thrane, 27, now faces a felony drug possession charge after detectives made the discovery.

SOUTH AUSTIN, TX -- A woman faces a felony drug possession charge after police found more than 40 pound of marijuana inside her Southwest Austin home, according to a published report on Thursday.

Ashley Nicole Thrane, 27, is said to have allowed police to search her apartment in the 4000 block of Gaines Court last month, the Austin American-Statesman reported. Detectives were there investigating a tip submitted via Crime Stoppers, the newspaper reported.

The Statesman notes the woman's arrest is connected to another incident in which police had been observing a pair of men moving bags in and out of a residence in the 4600 block of Chesney Ridge. After a drug-sniffing dog alerted police to drugs in the car the two men were in, they were arrested on the spot. One of the men had $54,160 on his person at the time of the arrest, the Statesman reported.
