South Travis County Motorcycle Crash Prompts Street Closure

A man in his 30s was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

SOUTH AUSTIN, TX -- A motorcyclist was hospitalized with serious injuries in a southeast county crash that shut down both directions of FM 812 Monday morning.

Austin-Travis County EMS officials said the collision occurred at about 7:40 a.m. The motorcyclist, a man in his 30s, had to be transported to the South Austin Medical Clinic via STAR Flight.

The man sustained serious injuries, but was expected to survive.

The accident prompted the closure of FM 812 near SH 130 for some time in the early part of the morning as the scene was being cleared.
