Southbound I-35 Exit Ramp To Airport Boulevard Closing Tonight

Closure at 9 p.m. needed for crews to safely construct new entrance/exit ramp, and drivers should use the 51st Street exit instead.

AUSTIN, TX — The southbound Interstate 35 exit ramp to Airport Boulevard will temporarily close tonight (Sunday, Oct. 15) at 9 p.m. for crews to safely construct a new entrance ramp and exit ramp to Airport Boulevard, officials said.

Texas Department of Transportation officials advises drivers on southbound I-35 wishing to exit to Airport Boulevard to instead exit at 51st Street and travel through the 51st Street intersection. Drivers from US 290 can either take the Airport Boulevard exit from US 290 or take the flyover to southbound I-35 then proceed to the southbound I-35 lower deck and use the 38th ½ Street exit #236B.

Road signs have been placed to alert drivers of the closure, and motorists should allow extra time to travel through this area. TxDOT asks that drivers be patient and remain aware when traveling through the work zone.
