Suspect Shot After Failed Store Robbery
Incident happened in store located at West Mary/South 5th streets intersection.

SOUTH AUSTIN, TX --A suspect has been shot after trying to rob a South Austin convenience store Wednesday evening, police said.
The incident occurred at the corner of West Mary and South 5th streets at about 9:30 p.m.
Austin-Travis County EMS officials said a male in his 20s was transported to University Medical Center Brackenridge after being shot in the arm.

According to media reports, someone inside the store opened fire on the suspect during the attempted robbery. The suspect then fled outside after being shot.
His injuries ares not expected to be life-threatening.
