Toddler Dies After Being Hit By Car After Exiting South Austin Halloween Supplies Store
Amarie Macias, 2, was taken to Dell Children's Medical Center for treatment of her injuries, but she later died while being evaluated.

SOUTH AUSTIN, TX -- A toddler was struck and killed by a car at a store parking lot in South Austin on Sunday, the child identified Monday as Amarie Macias.
The two-year-old girl had just emerged from the Spirit Halloween store in the 9300 block of South Interstate 35 with her family shortly after 7 p.m. Sunday when she was struck by the vehicle, police said. The child was transported to Dell Children's Medical Center for treatment of critical, life-threatening injuries where she succumbed to her wounds.
Another child also was hit, and is currently being treated. The extent of the second child's injuries is unclear.

Police said the driver of the vehicle that struck the children remained on the scene. An investigation into the accident continues.
