Vicious Dog Attack Sparks Concern Among South Austin Neighbors
Five dogs ganged up on a sixth and killed it. Concerned neighbors want animal control to do something about it.

Residents of the Manchester Cirlce area of South Austin witnessed a horrific dog attack in October and they want animal control to take action.
Holly Whittaker, a resident of Manchester Cirlce, took a video of five dogs attacking and killing a sixt on Oct. 30. She told KVUE that her neighbor keeps seven dogs on their property, two in an enclosed front yard and five out back. Whittaker said area residents have become increasingly concerned for their safety because of the aggressive dogs.
”It’s not a pleasant way to live for anyone to live anywhere around here,” Whittaker told KVUE.

Animal Control showed up at the property the day of the attack and found two offenses: a violation of city ordinance and animal cruelty. In November, six citations were filed against the neighbors because the dogs lacked rabies vaccinations and were too close to neighbors, reported the station.
Veterinarian Lindsey Kingsley saw Whittaker’s video and told KVUE that the dogs were attacking to kill.

“These dogs are out to kill,” Kingsley said. “You can see the two dominant dogs are attacking the regions of the throat, the chest, the face.”
Dogs act this way when they are hungry, kept in a confined space or lack human contact, complaints which area residents have filed to animal control, reported KVUE.
