Woman Dies In Early Morning South Austin Crash
The woman in her 20s was thrown from her vehicle just before 3 a.m., and died at the scene despite medics' efforts to save her.

SOUTH AUSTIN, TX -- A young woman lost her life early Wednesday after being thrown from her vehicle in a crash along Interstate 35.
Police said the crash occurred at I-35 near Oltorf Street just before 3 a.m. Upon arrival, police saw that a woman in her 20s had been thrown from her car. Despite the efforts of Austin-Travis County EMS medics to revive the woman, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Several lanes of the highway were closed for about three hours as police investigated.

Police later staged a news conference near the site, at a Starbucks parking lot, to provide the grim details. The identity of the woman who died was not immediately available.
