Driver rescued from retention pond in Spring after missing curve (fox26houston.com) — Emergency crews pulled a woman safely from a retention pond off Northcrest Drive near the Grand Parkway in Spring after she missed a curve just after midnight Tuesday. Deputies, firefighters, and a wrecker driver worked together to secure and remove the car with her still inside, and officials say she is okay while they continue looking into what caused the crash.
2. 1 man detained, 1 injured in Spring-area shooting, Pct. 4 says (abc13.com) — Law enforcement detained a suspect and hospitalized a man grazed by gunfire after a midday shooting in the Spring area on Tuesday. Harris County Precinct 4 deputies set up a perimeter near Blossom Crest Lane, used K-9s, drones, and air support, and alerted nearby schools as a precaution while they completed the search and continued investigating.
3. 2026 Pumpkin Patches in The Woodlands Area (hellowoodlands.com) — Families in Spring can visit Faith United Methodist Church's pumpkin patch on Rayford Road starting September 28 and the Old Time Christmas Tree Farm's popular patch on Spring Cypress Road throughout October. The guide also highlights several other pumpkin patches and fall events across The Woodlands, Tomball, Conroe, and Montgomery, with dates, prices, and hours to help you plan outings.
4. Catherine 'Cathy' Louise Hebert Cheselka (americanpress.com) — A longtime Spring resident, Catherine "Cathy" Hebert Cheselka, has passed away at age 70 after more than three decades in the community. Remembered as a devoted special education teacher, wife, sister, and beloved relative, she leaves behind her husband Andy, a large extended family, and many former students and friends who will cherish her memory.
