Criminal Trespass Charges Refiled Against Protesters

SPRING, TX — The Precinct 4 Harris County Constable's Office has refiled charges against three women who accused of blocking private property and disrupting business during a protest earlier this month.

The women, identied as Shelby Gibbs, Victoria Botchett, and Danielle Alexander, were arrested on April 18 outside of a business in the 19000 block of Carrot Street, after a caller complained the women were blocking traffic.

When Constables arrived they identified the three women and spoke with the caller who said the women entered the complainant’s private property in an attempt to interrupt the business.

Deputies learned the women had been warned several times by deputies to stay away from the property.

Charges of criminal trespass were originally filed on suspects Shelby Gibbs and Victoria Botchlett, the reported leader of the group Danielle Alexander was written for the violation.

When the cases went to court, the judge in the case, charges on Gibbs and Botchlett were dismissed.

Upon hearing this, investigators reviewed the charges and in conjunction with Harris County District Attorney’s office.

On Thursday, the charges were revisited and refiled with an additional charge of Class B Criminal Trespass on the suspected leader of the group Danielle Alexander.

“All suspects were contacted by Constables Investigators and advised of their newly filed charges and were given the opportunity to turn themselves in before we send a team to arrest them again. Their bonds and court information have not yet been set at this time,” Constable Mark Herman said.
