β€œTom is beloved by so many and respected by all,” said Dr. Jenny McGown, Klein ISD Superintendent. β€œDuring his tenure in Klein ISD, Tom was dedicated to serving every student and treating everyone with the utmost respect, care, and genuine kindness. We are so delighted to be able to name this facility in his honor.”

Tom Ricker retired from Klein ISD in 2008 after a 26-year career, where he served as a teacher, coach, Assistant Principal, Transportation Director, and Associate Superintendent.Β

His 16 years in the transportation department were marked by the implementation of the Klein Bus Safety Program for students, the computerized route management system for efficient routing of buses, and the proposal and development of the South Transportation Center as a means to save district taxpayers money through reduced transportation costs.

β€œI’m proud to be part of Klein ISD, and this honor greatly humbles me,” said Tom. β€œI want to thank the Board and district administration for this honor and also my family, and especially my wife, for supporting me all these years as we did the important work of taking care of the kids in Klein.”

Tom also served as Associate Superintendent of Facility and School Services from 2004 to 2008, overseeing and developing the 2004 Bond Program. He was recognized in 2013 as a Diamond at the 75th Anniversary Gala for Klein ISD.Β

Tom and his wife, Angela, retired from Klein ISD in 2008. Their two sons, Aaron and AJ, are graduates of Klein High School, and they have two grandsons attending Hassler Elementary.
