Keri Jefferson is a multi-age classroom teacher at Roth Elementary. This is her second year teaching a multi-age classroom where she continues to teach her students from last year, now third-graders, along with new second-grade students.

In multi-age classrooms, students follow a curriculum that is designed specifically for gifted students. These activities allow students to use their unique thinking skills to research, design, and create different projects according to how they picture the end result. Every student has passions for specific topics, so as they dig deeper and think critically, they can bring that expert knowledge to discussions and projects to truly enrich their learning.Β

β€œI think it is amazing to watch my third-graders become role models for our second graders,” Jefferson said. β€œIf you took away age and grade, you wouldn’t know the difference between the two groups. These kids are just brilliant and so inquisitive. They both work together so well and create meaningful lessons and discussions as a class.”

Jefferson is entering her 12th year in Klein and grew up as a student in the Klein community attending Lemm, Strack, and Klein Oak.

Β β€œBeing a teacher allows me the opportunity to grow along with my students as we challenge each other and take risks into new adventures along our education journey,” Jefferson said.Β

Jefferson is the epitome of a forever learner, and we are grateful she is a member of our #kleinfamily.
