Man Killed In Fight With Sheriff's Deputy

Sheriff's deputy kills man during a fight while investigating a domestic disturbance.

SPRING, TX — A Harris County Sheriff's deputy shot and killed a man, and shot and injured another during a struggle over the deputies gun.

The shooting happened at about 5:30 a.m. in the 17900 block of Seven Pines Drive.

Witnesses called deputies after hearing a man and his wife arguing, and heard a single gunshot fired inside the home.

A deputy was sent to the home, and when he knocked on the door, a man answered the door and the two began fighting.

Investigators said a neighbor ran over to help the deputy, and during the struggle with the man, the deputy pulled out his service and weapon and fired.

The man who was fighting with the deputy was killed, the neighbor who came to help supstained a minor gunshot wound.

Neither the deputy or the man's wife were hurt.

The cause of the shooting is under investigation.
