Spring ISD Hosting Meeting On Teen Dating And Domestic Violence

Program will be presented by Northwest Assistance Ministries and will help identify certain types of abuse.

SPRING, TX - From Spring ISD: Spring ISD is hosting an informational meeting about domestic and teen-dating violence at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 23 at the Spring ISD Learning Center, 17125 Ella Blvd.

β€œThe statistics for these types of violence and abuse are alarming,” said Vilma Gomez, Family and Community Engagement parent practices coordinator. β€œThis is an opportunity to not only raise awareness, but also equip our families and community to deal with this ongoing problem.”

Presented by Karen Luther, a violence prevention educator with the Northwest Assistance Ministry Family Violence Center, the program will define and identify types of abuse, present warning signs and prevention techniques as well as provide valuable information about community resources for abuse victims.

β€œThis subject is so important, that we have opened the meeting to all members of the community. Parents, teenagers and school personnel can all benefit from the information that will be presented,” Gomez said.
