19 Fort Bend ISD Students Win Scholarships From Men For Change
The scholarship recipients will enter college to study Biology, Physical Therapy, Physics, Neuroscience, Nursing, Engineering, and Economics

SUGAR LAND, TX — Men for Change, Inc. (MFC) honored 19 Fort Bend County high school seniors with scholarships during their annual scholarship awards banquet, held at Quail Valley City Centre.
Deidre Lyons-Lewis, principal at Elkins High School, served as guest speaker for the occasion. She congratulated students on their accomplishments and encouraged them to continue to pursue their dreams.
This year, MFC awarded $25,000 in scholarships to graduates of the Class of 2017. The organization awarded $4,000 in scholarships to six high schools (including Dulles, Elkins, Hightower, Marshall, Willowridge and Stafford), benefitting three graduates. In addition, MFC presented a $1,000 Wild Card scholarship to a deserving student at Westbury High School.
The 2017 MFC Scholarship recipients include – Janet Alia, Yenifer Gil, Ryan Hunter, Michael Jackson, Tamiah Jackson, Matais Jonsson, Z’Nae Mangum, Frederick McCloud, Terra Morris, Chukwudalu Ononeyi, Victoria Parada, Oluwamuyia Peters, Maraki Samuel, Lisette Sanchez, Lesly Sandoval, Sharde Shorter, Jayla Thomas, Llaran Turner and Lloyd Videau.
The scholarship recipients will enter college to study Biology, Physical Therapy, Physics, Neuroscience, Nursing, Engineering, Economics, Computer Science, Psychology and Sociology.
“Due to the selflessness of MFC members, many of these students will have privileges they may not otherwise have had,” said Billy Polk, MFC Director of Education.

The organization is made up of 15 committed men, who are compelled to respond to community needs of: mentoring high school and junior high students, providing scholarships for high school graduates, and donating school supplies for economically challenged youth. Support of the foundation helps many deserving youth achieve their future goals.
MFC welcomes membership of men who have a heart for our Fort Bend County youth and want to elicit change or make a difference in their lives.
