Early voting numbers indicate a heavy voter turnout for Democrats in Fort Bend County

RICHMOND, TX — The midterm elections in Fort Bend County have driven more voter to the polls than at any time in recent memory.
The early voting totals in Fort Bend County showed that more Democrats turned out to vote for the 2018 midterm election cycle than they did four years ago.
Maybe it's the selection of candiates for congressional races such as the five candidates hoping to unseat Republican incumbent Pete Olson in District 22, or the chance to cast a ballot for Democrat Congressmen Beto O'Rourke, who is hoping to unseat Senator Ted Cruz in November.

Or maybe, it's just a referendum for Democrats who are looking to make their stand against President Donald Trump in 2020.

The numbers were still higher than normal with 16,542 voters casting Democratic ballots, and 20,134 casting ballots in the Republican primary, according to Community Impact News.
The contested congressional race fr District 22 has eight candidates who all hope to unseat Olson.
A runoff is all but certain in both primary races, with the winners facing of in November.
Cruz, who still enjoys considerable support in the Republican party, could face a stiff challenge fro O'Rourke, who has surpassed Cruz in political contributions.
Voters have until 7 p.m. to cast their ballots inn the primary elecitons.
