Fort Bend County Deputies Arrest 3 Men In Bank Robbery Scheme

Deputies: Men were engaged in a scheme called jugging, where they followed bank customers to rob them or burglarize their cars.

FORT BEND COUNTY, TX -- Three men were arrested Tuesday after investigators said the men were “jugging” bank customers.

Jugging is a crime in which unsuspecting customers who are leaving a bank or check cashing establishment, are followed and robbed, or their vehicle is burglarized to steal the money.

Investigators with the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office and the Houston Police Department's Northeast Tactical Unit said that is exactly what was happening to customers at the Bank of America branch, located in the 9200 block of State Highway 6 south.

According to a KPRC report, deputies in the area saw three men breaking into the car, pulled up and arrested them.

Deputies arrested Roosevelt Ford Valentine, 20, Lawrence Edward Harris, 32, and Kenneth Duane Harris, 19, and charged them with burglary of a vehicle, engaging in organized criminal activity, evading arrest and theft of a property.

All three men, who are documented gang members according to investigators, were taken to the Fort Bend County Jail.
