RICHMOND, TX — A Fort Bend County jury took just 20 minutes to find a Pasadena man guilty of assault family violence. Randy Ruiz Alfaro, 23, of Pasadena, will spend the next six months in jail after he was convicted on Oct. 26 of assaulting his girlfriend in a Sam's Club parking lot in April. Prosecutors said that on April 20, Alfaro was verbally abusing and berating his girlfriend in the parking long in front of witnesses. According to a Houston Chronicle report, Alfaro asked his girlfriend, 'do you want to <a href="http://www.chron.com/neighborhood/sugarland/news/article/Pasadena-man-convicted-of-unleashing-devil-on-12316993.php" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">unleash the devil</a>?' during which time he came up behind the woman, put his arm around her neck and hit her five or six times. Sugar Land Police received a number of emergency calls during the verbal barrage, and arrived shortly after the assault took place. Alfaro will spend the next 187 days in jail.
