The discussions are needed because the district is continuing its steady growth and plans to open district's 48th, 49th and 50th elementary schools by the start of the 2017-2018 school year, and the district's 15th middle school by the start of the 2018-2019 school year.
Fort Bend ISD's 48th elementary school and 15th middle school will be located next to each other in Sienna Plantation South. The district's 49th and 50th elementary schools are on the Grand Parkway corridor, in the Harvest Green and Grand Vista developments.
The new elementary schools were funded by the 2014 Bond Program, while the middle school was funded by the 2007 Bond Program.
Attendance zone proposal for the campuses affected will be presented and discussed at those meetings, and will likely be considered by the Fort Bend ISD board of trustees in early 2017.
