Hightower Alum Robert Grays Dies After Suffering Neck Injury
Robert Grays, 19, a former Hightower standout, died after suffering an injury during a game against Texas A&M-Kingsville on Saturday.

WICHITA FALLS, TX — An alumnus of Missouri City’s Hightower High School, died after suffering a neck injury during a college football game at Midwestern State in Wichita Falls over the weekend.
Robert Grays, 19, died at a Houston area hospital on Tuesday.
He was a sophomore at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, where he played cornerback for two years.

Grays was injured during a game against Texas A&M-Kingsville on Sept. 16, when he was making a tackle, according to Bleacher Report.
Grays was taken to an area hospital after the injury, and was later transferred to a hospital in Houston where he died from his injury.

On Wednesday, Midwestern State University President released a statement expressing condolences to the Grays family

Grays played 11 gsms as a Freshman in 2016, recording 24 tackles, seven of which were solo tackles.
While a student at Fort Bend Hightower, Grays helped lead the team to a 10-0 record in his senior season in 2015, and earned first-team All-District 23-6A honors.
Grays is survivied by his parents Robert Grays III and Tammy Grays.
