Katy Father Identified By Family As Victim Killed At Salon

KATY, TX — A man who was shot to death at a hair and nail salon Wednesday afternoon has been identified as a local chef.

Family members positively identified the victim as Elmer Villatoro, 39, who was a married father of two small children.

According to a KHOU report, the general manager for Antonia’s Restaurant in Katy, confirmed that Villatoro was a chef at the popular restaurant. (Want to get daily updates about traffic news and other events going on in your area? Sign up for the free Houston Patch morning newsletter.)

Harris County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the 2500 block of Fry Road at about 3 p.m. for a shooting.

According to witnesses, Villatoro was getting a haircut when a young Hispanic man in his 20s came into the store, walked over and shot Villatoro in the back of the head execution style.

The shooter, who was wearing a white tank top, blue jeans and a blue ballcap, ran from the store and sped away in a black four door sedan, KTRK reported.

Investigators said they are reviewing surveillance video from nearby businesses to get a better description of the suspect.
