Katy Father Identified By Family As Victim Killed At Salon

Elmer Villatoro was shot in the back of the head execution style while he was getting a haircut Wednesday.

KATY, TX — A man who was shot to death at a hair and nail salon Wednesday afternoon has been identified as a local chef.

Family members positively identified the victim as Elmer Villatoro, 39, who was a married father of two small children.

Harris County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the 2500 block of Fry Road at about 3 p.m. for a shooting.

According to witnesses, Villatoro was getting a haircut when a young Hispanic man in his 20s came into the store, walked over and shot Villatoro in the back of the head execution style.

The shooter, who was wearing a white tank top, blue jeans and a blue ballcap, ran from the store and sped away in a black four door sedan, KTRK reported.

Investigators said they are reviewing surveillance video from nearby businesses to get a better description of the suspect.
