Katy ISD First Grader Leaves Campus After Mom Drops Him Off
A 7-year old autistic boy slipped away and walked back home after his mother walked him and his sister to Randolph Elementary School.

FULSHEAR, TX — A 7-year old boy with special needs, wandered away from a Katy ISD elementary school after being dropped off by his mother on Monday morning.
Eneida Horatio said she walked her son and daughter to Randolph Elementary School from their Fulshear neighborhood, and dropped him off at one entrance, and then walked around the school to drop off her daughter.

Neighborhood video surveillance shows the 7-year old, who has autism, walking home by himself.
Horatio contacted Katy ISD about the incident and the district released a statement, which read in part:

"...Video surveillance shows that the student was dropped-off by foot, near the school entrance, though was not escorted to, or through the entrance by the parent. A specific drop-off site has since been discussed with the student's mother so that the student's arrival and entry into the building can be more closely monitored…”
