This is just one of the kid created characters I received. While I was on the school Reading Team, one of my duties was to take the fourth graders back to their classes until their teachers returned from lunch. So, we talked and we drew and we learned from one another. After piloting the Characters of Character, they earned a National Promising Practice Award through Character Education Partnership in Washington, I took a leave of absence and formed a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is, "to provide a firm foundation for children to establish strong civic values" and today, I've published over 30 books, visited a lot of schools, communities and families to share the important message that each of my characters has to share.
You see! While one may think that the cute characters are geared towards the younger kids, the older ones were fully engaged in them as well. I think a fun project to do would be to ask your children to create a character. You will find what's truly on their mind, I will treasure my drawings and time with the children forever.
